Interxion utilizes the comprehensive expertise of SPIE in its new “FRA14” data centre

- The data centre operator Interxion has entrusted SPIE with the complete technical implementation of its new “FRA14” data centre in Frankfurt am Main.

 

- SPIE will provide all of the technical building equip ment and interior installations in the 4,600 m2 data centre.

 

- The business relationship between the two contractual parties was established in 2002.

 

Frankfurt am Main, July 26th, 2018 – The data centre operator Interxion and the European leader in multi-technical services SPIE have just signed today the contract for the major data centre “FRA14”. Over the next 15 months, Interxion will be undertaking its fourteenth data centre – covering 4,600 m2 – on its campus in the Ostend district of Frankfurt. Together with SPIE Lück GmbH as the technical general contractor, SPIE Deutschland & Zentraleuropa will be providing all of the technical building equipment and interior installations.

With its “FRA14” data centre, Interxion is creating further space for digital growth. This new building is part of the company’s goal of expanding its cloud hub in response to the strong demand for cloud computing solutions.

Interxion has been Lück’s customer since the early 2000s and this is the eighth data centre -that they have worked on together. The scope of services for the new data centre includes the technical finishing jobs and all of the building technology. This encompasses planning and configuration, infrastructural interfaces, the electrotechnical equipment of the energy and building technology, cooling systems, ventilation systems and sanitary installations as well as the entire security technology including access controls, lock systems, alarm and monitoring systems and fire-extinguishing systems.
