SPIE acquires Aaftink in the Netherlands and strengthens its position in the retail installation market

Breda, The Netherlands, December 9th, 2016SPIE, the independent European leader in multi-technical services in the areas of energy and communications, has acquired the Aaftink group of companies in the Netherlands. This acquisition gives SPIE a leading position on the Dutch retail installation market.

 

 

The Aaftink group of companies (“Aaftink”) is located in Abcoude and specialises in the design, installation, maintenance and repair of building-related systems for retail clients. With 80 employees, Aaftink generates annual revenue of approximately €12 million.

Aaftink's strategy is characterised by a multi-technical approach with a focus on full maintenance services. Its employees are trained to work on all aspects of installations in retail spaces, while satisfying the timing and image requirements specific to this environment.

Lei Ummels, Managing Director of SPIE Nederland, declared: "The Dutch retail installation market is a very specialised market and offers an attractive margin potential. SPIE already has strong capabilities in this market, specifically in the fields of ICT and security solutions. The acquisition of Aaftink will significantly enrich our service offering to retail clients."
