Why create this new Wind Power BU? What are the challenges and areas of expertise involved?
The creation of this Wind Power BU aligns with our strategy of diversifying towards low-carbon energies, aiming for a "Green share" target of 25% by 2027. This structure also provides us with growth opportunities in a rapidly expanding sector and enables us to respond more effectively and swiftly to evolving market demands.
In the field of wind energy, we are now capable of offering our clients comprehensive and integrated solutions to address the challenges of energy transition. This includes technical support during the construction phase and maintenance services throughout the operational phase. Additionally, we have expanded our service portfolio and strengthened our expertise in electrical cable installation and connection, as well as high-voltage systems management, through the acquisition of Correll.
What is our business outlook?
Current trends and future projections indicate that wind energy will continue to play an increasingly important role in the global energy mix. By leveraging our existing expertise, exploring new opportunities, and engaging in strategic partnerships and acquisitions, SPIE Global Services Energy aims for significant and sustainable growth in this rapidly expanding sector.
In 2024, the focus will be on the successful launch of the Wind Power BU, including the integration of the Correll group, operational consolidation, internal development, and delivering high-quality services to our key clients. We will continue our strategy of acquiring complementary businesses to strengthen the BU's capabilities in the wind sector.
By 2025, the BU aims to expand its geographic presence into new wind markets, focusing on regions with high growth potential and attractive commercial opportunities (Europe, North America, and the Asia-Pacific). We may also explore diversifying the services offered by the BU, expanding its portfolio to include new areas and reach additional clients.
In the longer term, our ambition is to become an“international champion in the wind power services”, offering innovative solutions, cutting-edge expertise, and exceptional customer service.
Why did you decide to join the SPIE adventure?
